Favorites on my recent trip were the frozen custard (soon to be served with doughnut chunks in a cannoli cone) and a doughnut bread pudding with a perfectly crisp top, so rich I wasn’t even tempted by the side of creme anglaise.

I’m so excited for the grand reopening of Frost Doughnuts as a dessert lounge. They are still in Mill Creek Town Center, in a bigger, shinier location, one block north of their old spot. The doors will soon be open.
The doughnuts at FROST are on the elevated side of things with creative and funky flavors; think bourbon caramel pecan or white chocolate pretzel and sea salt. Also check out their Froissaint, a croissant/donut hybrid.
“We wanted to respond to people who come in for dessert, but aren’t thinking about doughnuts for dessert,” said Hernandez’s fellow partner Daniel Sterling. Though plans for sundaes consisting of a doughnut, frozen custard, and topping of choice make a very convincing argument for postprandial doughnuts.
